Zamfara primaries: APC affirms Lawal as sole candidate for 2027

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Zamfara State chapter, has affirmed Governor Dauda Lawal as the sole candidate for the 2027 general elections, calling on party stakeholders, members and supporters in all 14 local government areas of the state to unite despite their differences to secure the success of all APC candidates at the polls.

The party results, read by the Chairman of the APC Governorship Primaries in Zamfara State, Alhaji Babagana Uba, showed overwhelming support for the candidacy of Governor Dauda Lawal in all 14 LGAs, returning him unopposed.

From the results presented at the collation centre, Zamfara APC unanimously voted as follows: Anka, 16,607; Bakura, 18,112; Birnin Magaji, 15,440; Bukkuyum, 11,4061; Bungudu, 24,4061; Gummi, 23,1024; Gusau, 61,4072; Kaura Namoda, 18,3015; Maradun, 15,6024; Maru, 17,3041; Shinkafi, 15,204; Talata Mafara, 22,884; Tsafe, 19,3054; and Zurmi, 22,506. The total was 301,893.

The affirmation results were signed by the APC state collation chief, Malam Abubakar Mohammed Nakwada, the party agent, Moukhtar Muhammad Lugga, Alhaji Lawali M. Liman and Malam Tukur Umar Danfulani, members of the Zamfara State APC collation team.

In his response, Governor Dauda Lawal thanked the APC and the several committee chairmen and members who made the party primaries a great success.

Having vowed never to disappoint the party and the people of Zamfara State, Governor Lawal pledged to focus more on reclaiming communities besieged by bandits and alleviating the plight of residents if elected to a second term.

He maintained that responding to the needs of those who cannot help themselves in rural areas is one of the major responsibilities divinely placed in the hands of political leaders at all levels, emphasising that it will be a measure of judgment from God on all leaders on the last day.

He reiterated his call for everyone in Zamfara State and Nigeria to continue praying for leaders, saying they need both physical support and spiritual prayers to guide the people from the land of promises to the land of fulfilment through wise decisions and proper actions.
