The Zamfara State Police Command has joined other Police Commands across the country in marking the 70th anniversary of women’s inclusion in the Nigeria Police Force, reflecting on a historic milestone of dedication, courage, and exceptional service to the nation.
As part of the celebrations, female police officers of the Command paid a home visit to retired senior female officers. During the visit, the team celebrated the retirees and commended them for their selfless service, professionalism, and remarkable contributions to the Nigeria Police Force during their active years.
According to a statement issued by DSP Yazid Abubakar, anipr, Police Public Relations Officer for the Commissioner of Police in Gusau, the female officers also visited Nigeria Police Secondary School, Gusau, where they sensitised students—particularly young girls—on the pivotal roles women play in policing and nation building.
They encouraged the students to consider careers in the Nigeria Police Force, reassuring them that women continue to excel in diverse roles within the service.
Additionally, the officers visited the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Gusau, providing financial assistance to patients experiencing difficulties with medical bills.

The female officers of the Zamfara State Command also embarked on a 5-kilometre road walk within Gusau metropolis. This activity formed part of weeklong events celebrating seven decades of dedication, professionalism, and the invaluable contributions of women to policing and national security.
The road walk included female personnel from various units and formations across the Command, symbolising unity, strength, and a shared commitment to service.
The event underscored the remarkable resilience and steadfastness of women police officers in promoting peace, protecting lives and property, and supporting security operations in Zamfara State and across the country.
The Zamfara State Police Command, under the leadership of CP Maikaba, psc+, remains committed to promoting gender inclusivity, supporting female officers, and recognising their invaluable contributions to security and peacebuilding across the state and the nation.
