The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has debunked baseless rumours that are published on social media stating that it has set up a committee to formally receive Governor Dauda Lawal into the party.
In a statement issued by Comrade Yusuf Idris Gusau, the APC publicity secretary, to journalists today at the party’s headquarters, Bye Pass Road, Gusau.
The publicity secretary maintained that the party came across a fake news making the rounds online purportedly initiated by certain online publisher identified as confidentialreporters.blogspot.com claiming the setting up of a committee to welcome Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State into the party.
To say the least, the information is false, unpatriotic, unprofessional, and fabricated through mischievous intents of the writers and the medium.
For what it is worth, the Zamfara State chapter of the APC has never approached the PDP nor its Governor in the state on any move to ask the Governor in any way to join the APC.
APC as a party in Zamfara has never been impressed by the decimal and decimating performance of Governor Dauda Lawal in the state.

This disappointing position is certainly not the stand of the electorate and many other politicians in the state which was demonstrated at the August 16, 2025, Kaura Namoda South State House of Assembly bye-election where the APC overwhelmingly defeated the ruling PDP.
This was quickly followed by the decamping of the PDP candidate fielded at the same Kaura Namoda South State House of Assembly bye-election along with his multiple supporters to the APC.
The APC, therefore, does not need the patronage of any hungry, unpopular and unprofessional online medium’s lies to draw an already existing unprecedented popularity and support from the electorate.
The general public should note therefore that the APC has its well-established channels of communication and information dissemination and completely disregard the confidentialreporters’ blog report on the falsehood of setting up a committee to welcome Zamfara State Governor into the party.
The party will continue to positively engage the general public in a civilised way.
