As a child, fashion entrepreneur, Utibe ‘Yutee’ Rone’s favourite pastimes were drawing and sketching. Her rich imagination often inspired enthusiastic remarks, sometimes whispered from family members, peers, and neighbours. Many watched her in wonder, while others lavished effusive praises on her creative ingenuity.

While in the university, Yutee’s father, though supportive of her passion, wanted her to study medicine. However, for personal reasons, she chose to pursue Microbiology. Even as she worked toward her degree, her love for fashion design only grew stronger. After graduation, Yutee pursued her real dreams as she went to London for training in fashion design and marketing in preparation to launch her label, Yutee Rone Atelier, in 2007. When she launched her high end eponymous label 18 years ago, it was with the intent of revolutionising the industry. And Yutee has done that as she unarguably became one of the names that is synonymous with luxury fashion in Nigeria.
Over the years, Yutee, wife of energy magnate Julius Rone, has made a lasting statement through her innovative designs, continually showcasing her uncommon creativity. Her brand embodies sophistication, femininity, and effortless elegance, earning her nationwide recognition. She has created one-of-a-kind structural pieces out of the highest quality fabrics, bold prints, and meticulous craftsmanship, thus amassing a growing clientele.
As proof of her creativity, she has been invited to showcase her collections on many runways across Africa and beyond, including London Fashion Week in 2012 and 2013, the Elite Model Look in Lagos in 2014 and New York Fashion Week, receiving standing ovations.
