Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has congratulated Christians in the state on the occasion of the 2024 Christmas.

In a goodwill message by his media aide, Sunusi Bature,  rejoiced with Christians who witnessed yet another moment of celebration, and urged them to embrace the spirit of mutual respect and peaceful coexistence.

He emphasised the need to strengthen the spirit of brotherhood, unity and love in spite of diversities, stressing, “that’s the only driving force to progress in the country.”

The governor urged Christians to reflect on the enduring spirit of humanity, love, honesty, kindness and forgiveness that Jesus Christ preached and inculcated as they imbibed the messages and lessons of the scripture.

He also reiterated commitment to infrastructure development in education, health, social and economic sectors geared towards improving the living conditions of the people

The governor urged the people to support his administration’s policies and programmes, and shun acts capable of causing security breaches, warning that the government would not condone attempts to disrupt the relative peace in the state.

According to Yusuf, the state government is working with security agencies to deal with groups or individuals plotting to foment trouble.

Governor Yusuf has donated N20 million to selected Christian groups, to enable them to celebrate Christmas in the state.
