Yuletide: Tony Elumelu Foundation distributes relief items to his community

The Tony Elumelu Foundation has distributed food items to his constituents in Onicha-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, to celebrate the festive season.

Speaking at the distribution of relief items by the Tony Elumelu Foundation to the people of the Onicha-Uku community in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, the Chairman of the Local Government, Emma Bazim Chinye, stressed that the initiative aimed to ease the burden on beneficiaries and ensure that support reaches those who truly need it.

The Council Boss thanked Dr Tony Elumelu and his family for always coming to the aid of the vulnerable.

He reiterated that the Tony Elumelu Foundation is a global organisation that provides grants to young industrialists across Africa and applauded them for being more inclusive in the programme.

Speaking further, Chairman Chinye stated that the Tony Elumelu Foundation made available 2,000 bags of rice and 200 bags of beans to be shared among various groups, including communities, the NYSC, and orphanages. Other beneficiaries included the College of Nursing School, Onicha-Uku and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

The LGA Boss emphasised that transparency and fairness guided the entire process, adding that the distribution was closely supervised to ensure accountability.

He urged beneficiaries to make good use of the items and assured residents that the local government would continue to prioritise people-oriented programs.

He expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of this exercise and thanked those who participated peacefully. According to him, such collective efforts are necessary to strengthen unity and improve the well-being of the community.

Some beneficiaries who spoke at Onicha-Uku described the exercise as a step toward building a more caring and inclusive local government.

Jude Onwenna of Ifhiekbe Quarter in Onicha-Uku community, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, expressed his happiness with the show of kindness.

Lambert Amaefule from Mbaifoli village in Imo State thanked God Almighty for using the Tony Elumelu Foundation to assist them every year with food items.
