The management of NEPL/NDW OML 34, has distributed food items and drinks to host communities to cushion effects of high inflation rates, especially during this festive period.
Mr. George Nwasiolo, Manager, Government, Community and Security Department (GCSC), who represented Mr. Karo Oviaiti, Chief Operating Officer, said: “It is to show appreciation to the indigenes of these host communities for their support and friendly disposition to the operations of the company in their areas. We want them to sustain this partnership in the coming year.”
Moses Uchere and Markson Koyaya, President-General and Secretary of Oghior, Udu Local Government, applauded the company for meeting up with the yearly gesture considering the current state of the economy. He assured it of their continued support to its operations in their community.
They, however, pleaded with the company to do more in terms of increasing the numbers of items being given to their community, as what was usually handed over to them did not get to everyone in the community because of their huge population, essentially women and children.
Patrick Ajenirena and Kutu Egwono, present and past President Generals of Usiefrun, Ughelli South LG, commended the company’s for sustaining the gesture and expressed commitment of the people in fostering cordial relationship between both parties.
Professor Aguwe, President-General, Okurode-Urhobo, Warri South and Lugard Okotete as well as Charles Okotete, Secretary and Provost, respectively, appreciated the management for always extending the gesture to them every year and promised to ensure it got the people it was meant for in the community.
Benefitting communities are drawn from Delta Central and South Senatorial districts, where the company’s operational facilities are mostly concentrated.
