Yuletide: Dangote slashes petrol price to ease holiday transport costs

Dangote slashes petrol price

From Adanna Nnamani, Abuja

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the price of its Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, to N899.50 per litre, as part of its efforts to lower transportation costs for Nigerians during the Christmas and New Year festivities.

The development comes after the refinery, Africa’s first privately-owned oil facility, had reduced its petrol price to N970 per litre in November.

In a statement released yesterday, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Group, Mr. Anthony Chiejina, said the initiative was aimed at alleviating the financial burden on Nigerians during the holiday season.

“To alleviate transport costs during this holiday season, Dangote Refinery is offering a holiday discount on PMS,” Chiejina stated.

In addition to the price reduction, the refinery introduced a unique offer to benefit consumers further.

“From today, our petrol will be available at N899.50 per litre at our truck loading gantry or Single Point Mooring (SPM),” Chiejina revealed.

“Furthermore, for every litre purchased on a cash basis, consumers will have the opportunity to buy another litre on credit, backed by a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank,” he added.

Chiejina expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their continued support and reiterated the refinery’s dedication to providing quality, competitively priced petroleum products.

He assured Nigerians that the Dangote Petroleum Refinery remains committed to ensuring its products are environmentally friendly and suitable for modern engines.

“With this gesture, we hope to make the holiday season more enjoyable for Nigerians by reducing transport costs and ensuring access to quality fuel,” Chiejina concluded.
