Newly-appointed Force New Media Officer, CSP Aliyu Giwa said Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu has placed something sacred in his hands, promising to spend every day justifying his appointment.
The IGP appointed Giwa as the Force New Media Officer on Sunday, March 8.
This followed the appointment of DCP Anthony Placid to replace ACP Benjamin Hundeyin as Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO).
In an appreciation message shared on X on Thursday, Giwa expressed gratitude to the IGP for the appointment.
He said, “I have walked this path long enough to know that appointments do not make men, character does. But I will not pretend that this moment does not mean everything to me, because it does.

“To the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM sir, you have placed something sacred in my hands, and I receive it with both.
“I do not take lightly what you have done. You reached into the ranks of this great Force and said “him”.
“I will spend every day of this appointment proving that you were right. Not for validation. But because Nigeria deserves nothing less than my absolute best, and I intend to deliver exactly that.”
Giwa also thanked his family, colleagues, and well-wishers for their encouragement.
“The work ahead is serious. The responsibility is immense. And I am ready,” he added.
