“You’ve failed Nigerians”, Amaechi tells Tinubu

• Alleges Rivers “notorious” for writing election results

The 2023 presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has said that President Bola Tinubu does not care for the welfare of Nigerians.

The former governor of Rivers State also alleged that his state is “notorious” for writing election results and announcing winners.

Amaechi made the statements when he addressed his loyalists at Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.

The former Minister of Transportation said the formation of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) was to end the second-term ambition of President Tinubu’s administration, which he described as causing untold hardship to Nigerians.

He said: “This coming is just to reassure our supporters and Rivers people that there is a new party in town. And that every Rivers man who thinks good of the state and the country should move to register with the new party and ensure that we remove the current government and stop the hunger everybody is suffering from.”

Speaking on the ADC’s presidential ticket in the 2027 election, among other key contenders, including Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, Amaechi said, “The moment anybody emerges from the primaries, we insist on a free, fair and transparent primary; all of us will support whoever emerges.”

“If you are not tired of President Tinubu, I’m tired of President Tinubu. If you’re not hungry, I’m hungry. If the rich men are spending N4 million a month for electricity, only God knows how you are surviving. And the president says he doesn’t care.

“The president says he is not here to make you happy. But ADC is here to make you happy.”

On Rivers, Amaechi stated, “Rivers State is notorious for writing election results. When they write results, they claim they have won. I will not work with you if you work with those result snatchers to announce results. God will bless all of us.”

He boasted that his new political party will unseat Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
