Youths commend Kalu for his ‘Back to School’ initiative in Abia

The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL) has commended the senator for Abia North, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, for his “Back to School Initiative.” 

President General and the Publicity Secretary of the group, Goodluck Ibem and Okey Nwaoru, respectively, in a statement in Owerri, Imo State, described the former governor’s idea as a vital step towards saving education in the state.

He added that Senator Kalu’s unwavering commitment to education reflects a profound understanding of its central role in societal development and aligns perfectly with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

“The provision of educational tools to primary school pupils not only alleviates the financial burdens faced by parents but, also, instills a sense of hope and motivation among the students. By nurturing a conducive learning environment, this initiative ensures that the children of Abia North have the opportunities they deserve to realise their full potential.”

He further emphasised that as the foundation visits schools, such as Igbere Central School, Lohum Imenyi Central School, Township School Uzuakoli, Ovim Community School, and Umuhu Ezechi Community School, they have witnessed, firsthand, the gratitude of beneficiaries and their renewed commitment to their studies.

“The five-day outreach serves to strengthen the bond between the students, teachers, and the foundation, while fostering a spirit of community support that is essential for effective education.

“COSEYL recognises that the stark disparities in education across our nation require urgent attention and collective action. Senator Orji Uzor Kalu’s holistic approach, which encompasses not only education but also, healthcare, infrastructure, and agricultural support, sets a commendable precedent.

“This initiative has the potential to inspire similar efforts, creating a sustainable ecosystem for academic and personal development in Abia North and beyond”, Ibem stated.

The group, therefore, called on other leaders and stakeholders to emulate Senator Kalu’s exemplary dedication to the educational upliftment of youths in the country, ensuring that every child has access to quality learning resources and opportunities.
