Dr. Raymond Edoh, a dedicated youth leader and advocate for positive change within Nigeria and Africa at large, extends his deepest condolences to the family, friends, youths and the people of Nigeria on the passing of President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away yesterday.
“It is a solemn moment for our beloved country, as we reflect on the life and contributions of a leader who commanded respect and admiration among many”, Raymond said.
Dr. Raymond Edoh made the statement in his condolence speech while addressing the New York Times journalists in New York in the early hours of today following the breaking of the news of Buhari’s death
According to him,
“President Buhari, who served as Nigeria’s president from 2015 until his untimely death, was a figure marked by his steadfast commitment to the nation. His leadership was underscored by his unyielding focus on combating corruption, addressing insecurity, and fostering economic growth. The loss of such a prominent leader resonates deeply within the hearts of Nigerians, especially the youth who saw in him a figure of hope and potential for a better Nigeria”.
In this time of grief, Dr. Edoh emphasises the need for unity and resilience among all Nigerians. “The country has experienced significant challenges during Buhari’s administration, from dealing with economic upheavals to navigating nuanced political landscapes. Yet, President Buhari’s unwavering dedication inspired many to remain hopeful and engaged in building a brighter future”.
Dr. Edoh reflects, “While we mourn the loss of President Muhammadu Buhari, we must also honour his legacy by continuing the fight for a united Nigeria. It is a time for reflection but also a time for action.” He urges the youth of Nigeria to mobilise and engage actively in shaping the path forward, ensuring that the ideals championed by Buhari live on in their actions.

Initiatives such as the National Social Investment Programme, which provided support to millions of Nigerians, particularly the youth and vulnerable populations, exemplified his commitment to uplifting the next generation”.
