Senior Special Assistant on Public Enlightenment to the National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Oliver Okpala, has accused the Kano State government and a former national vice chairman, North West zone, Salihu Lukman, of trying to destroy the party.
He said Ganduje would not be distracted by the likes of Lukman or the Kano State government that have been working hard to destroy the APC and its national chairman’s hard-earned integrity.
Okpala, who was responding to a statement credited to Lukman demanding Ganduje’s resignation for incompetence, described the APC national chairman as a unifying factor and stabiliser that has used his wealth of experience in resolving political differences in the ruling party.
He said the ship of the party was sailing smoothly under Ganduje and every member was being carried along.
“Ganduje is a strategic and composed leader who has a grip of the nitty-gritty of administering a political party. He is a man who has seen it all, he is a father to all. He has been a unifying factor, a stabiliser, using his wealth of experience in resolving political differences.
“Ganduje exudes love, faith, joy and happiness and he is committed to letting such pristine virtues permeate Nigeria’s political orbit. He is a man who has seen it all, he is a father to all. He has been a unifying factor, a stabiliser, using his wealth of experience in resolving political differences.
“Ganduje is greatly impacting positively on the fortunes and image of the party. What he has done since he came on the saddle is to unite and not to divide.
“He will not be distracted by the likes of Lukman or the Kano State government that have been working hard to destroy the APC or Ganduje’s hard-earned integrity,” he said.
Okpala said Lukman is a politician without base or follower-ship, who had retrogressed because of his unguided public utterances and conduct.
“Lukman has, over the years, retrogressed consistently and has lost all his political relevance. We are not surprised because Lukman has been a loose political cannon who has been unguided in his public utterances and conduct over the years.
“He profits from the crisis and, this time around, he will only fail and lose the little left of his political recognition.
“He is trying to create a wrong narrative about the political superiority and effective leadership which Ganduje has been providing for the party since he assumed office. Lukman was a party official who fought every party leadership, even the one he served under. Such a person should not be taken seriously.”
Okpala said the APC will continue to grow in strength.
“Lukman and his likes should know that there is no room for their treachery in the current APC, led by Ganduje. This APC is going to continue to focus on building love, peace, internal party democracy and forthrightness in all political dealings.
“The way Ganduje has brought decorum to bear in the affairs of the party speaks volumes. Coupled with the love APC members and leaders across the country have so far shown him, Ganduje has been attracting awards and commendations across boards.
“An amateur politician like Lukman cannot speak for Nigerians, particularly APC members who have clearly shown their acceptance of Ganduje’s style of leadership.
“Lukman has no political base or followership and he thinks that by attacking Ganduje, he will get recognition, that is a failed strategy,” he said.
