Renowned Nigerian fashion designer, Olorunyomi Omoniyi Makun, popularly known as Yomi Casual, is set to take his fashion brand to the United States on a month-long tour aimed at showcasing contemporary African designs to a global audience.
The tour, scheduled to run from June 25 to July 27, 2026, will cover major American cities including Atlanta, Maryland, Houston, and other locations, where the award-winning designer is expected to unveil some of his latest collections and engage fashion enthusiasts, clients, and members of the African diaspora. Yomi Casual is widely recognized for building one of Nigeria’s most successful fashion brands since launching the label in 2007, earning a reputation for blending African fabrics with modern tailoring.
Over the years, the designer has dressed several high-profile personalities across entertainment, business, and religious circles, while helping to project African fashion beyond the continent. Industry observers say one of the strengths of the Yomi Casual brand is its ability to present African culture in a modern and globally appealing way.
Speaking ahead of the tour, Yomi Casual said the trip is about more than fashion: “African fashion has evolved into a global language. This tour is an opportunity to showcase our creativity, our fabrics, and the stories behind them. We want people in America to experience the beauty, elegance, and versatility of African fashion.”
According to fashion stakeholders, interest in African-inspired designs continues to grow internationally as designers across the continent gain greater visibility on global runways and cultural platforms. The Yomi Casual U.S. tour is expected to further strengthen that conversation by introducing new collections that celebrate African identity while embracing contemporary fashion trends.
A fashion enthusiast online, who plans to attend one of the tour events, described the designer’s arrival as a welcome development.
“Yomi Casual has built a strong reputation over the years. Many people in the diaspora are excited to see his latest designs and experience Nigerian fashion up close,” the fashionista said.
The upcoming showcase is also expected to create networking opportunities for fashion entrepreneurs, creatives, and African-owned businesses in the United States. Organizers say attendees should expect a blend of fashion exhibitions, cultural engagement, brand showcases, and conversations around the growing influence of African fashion on the global stage.
For many followers of the brand, the tour represents another milestone in Yomi Casual’s journey from a Nigerian fashion label to a globally recognized ambassador of African style. As preparations gather momentum, fashion lovers across the United States are expected to get a firsthand look at the craftsmanship, creativity, and cultural richness that have become synonymous with the Yomi Casual name.
