Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has described the death of a prominent traditional ruler in the state, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other notable citizens as a monumental loss to the government and people of the state.
Buni, in a statement issued by his spokesman, Mamman Mohammed, in Damaturu, the state capital, yesterday, called for prayers and supplications for the repose of the souls of the departed and comfort for their bereaved families.
The governor particularly extolled the late Mai of Ngazargamu, Alhaji Tijjani Abubakar Ibn, and Alhaji Ligali Lawan Ma’aji, a retired permanent secretary in the state, who died on Saturday in a ghastly motor accident.
He also expressed sadness over the recent death of the APC Women Leader, Hajiya Fatima Umar Mairiga, and other prominent citizens. He highlighted their contributions to the development of the state through their services at different stages of their lives.

“As faithful, we know that death is an inevitable reality ordained by Almighty Allah (SWT), and every soul shall taste death at its appointed time,” Buni said.
He urged the people of the state to remain steadfast in faith and continue to pray for the departed souls. He said the government stands by the bereaved families during this period of grief.
The governor prayed for the forgiveness of the shortcomings of the deceased and for their families to be granted the strength, patience and fortitude to bear the loss.
