HoS, perm sec get about N1.5m monthly

The Yobe State government has approved a new salary structure for top civil servants, pegging the monthly salary of the Head of Service at N1.43 million.
The approval was announced in a press statement issued and signed by the Head of Information, Office of the Head of Service (HoS), Alhassahn Sule Mamudo, in Damaturu.
According to the statement, Permanent Secretaries will now earn N1,203,851.55 monthly, while the Auditor-General for the State, Auditor-General for Local Governments and the Accountant-General will each earn N1,114,666.36.
Sule said the state governor, Mai Mala Buni, approved the new pay for the senior public servants to improve service delivery.
He said the Head of the Civil Service (HoS), Alhaji Absullahi Musa Shehu, thanked Governor Buni for his commitment to the welfare of civil servants, describing the new structure as a demonstration of the administration’s understanding of workers’ needs.
He urged beneficiaries and other civil servants to reciprocate the gesture with greater dedication and improved service delivery.
The Head of Service added that the government has introduced various welfare packages for workers, with more initiatives underway to strengthen the public service.
