Parents, educators and family leaders will converge in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, on September 12 for the 2026 Intentional Parent Summit, aimed at equipping families to raise purposeful children.

The summit, organised by The Intentional Parents, will hold under the theme, “The Parenting Manual,” with speakers expected to address practical challenges confronting parents in today’s fast-changing society.

The organisers said the summit would challenge parents to move beyond merely reacting to their children’s challenges and become more deliberate in shaping their values, confidence, choices and future.

They noted that the growing influence of technology, social media, peer pressure and changing societal values had made intentional parenting increasingly important.

Among the speakers billed for the event are David Folaranmi, Drug Abuse Prevention Advocate; Etima Umeh, Girls Mentor; Kunle Ologe, Marriage Counsellor; Wendy Ologe, described as an African parenting coach; Ebuka Ede, Boys Mentor; Chiedozie Eze, Teen Mentor; and Chukwuemeka Onyenezi, Money Coach.

The organiser,Africa’s number one parenting Coach Wendy Ologe said the speakers would bring diverse perspectives to issues including child development, communication, mentorship, family values, drug abuse prevention and financial education.

According to her, parenting goes beyond providing food, shelter and education, stressing that children also need presence, guidance, values and meaningful communication.

The summit is scheduled to begin at 10am at Royal House of Grace International Church, Greenland Parish, DSP Alamieyeseigha Way, Onopa, Yenagoa.

She urged parents and guardians across Bayelsa to attend, describing the gathering as a platform to learn, reflect and become more intentional in raising the next generation.
