Yellow Card, a licensed stablecoin-based digital asset infrastructure provider has been nominated for seven awards at the 2026 Morgans Governance, Risk Management and Compliance (GRC) Financial Crime Awards (Africa Edition), highlighting its compliance and financial crime prevention efforts across the continent.

The company secured nominations across five award categories, including the Organizational Excellence in Governance, Risk and Compliance Award, which recognises institutions demonstrating strong governance, risk management and regulatory compliance.

According to the company, the remaining six nominations were awarded to two members of its compliance and financial crime team.

Senior Compliance Manager and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for West, Central and East Africa, Bright Anyanwu, received four nominations, while Group Head, Transaction Risk and Financial Crime, Japhet Gana, earned two nominations.

The Morgans GRC and Financial Crime Prevention Awards honour individuals and organisations driving excellence in governance, risk management, compliance, cybersecurity, fraud prevention and the fight against financial crime across Africa’s financial services industry. Established in 2020, the awards have since expanded beyond Africa to Europe and other regions.

Commenting on the recognition, Anyanwu described the nominations as an affirmation of the company’s commitment to maintaining high compliance standards across its African operations.

“Financial crime doesn’t take a day off, and neither have I. At Yellow Card, compliance sits at the heart of our operations, not on the sidelines. These nominations are proof that Africa’s compliance frontier is being defended with expertise the world can trust. Vote for the standard, not just the story,” he said.

Voting for the awards is currently open and will close on August 30, 2026. The top three nominees in each category will be shortlisted based on public votes before undergoing assessment by an independent panel of judges. Winners are expected to be announced at the awards ceremony scheduled for November in Nairobi, Kenya.

Yellow Card said the nominations reflect its continued investment in strengthening governance frameworks, managing risk and enhancing financial crime prevention as digital asset adoption continues to grow across Africa.
