The former Governor of Zamfara State and Senator representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Marafan Sokoto), has congratulated the 88 successful indigenes from Zamfara West commissioned under the 89 Regular Recruit Intake of the Nigerian Army Depot, Zaria.
Addressing them today, Saturday, 13 December 2025, at the passing-out parade of the 89 Regular Recruit Intake held at the institution in Zaria, Kaduna State, Senator Yari commended their resilience for making it to the final stage of the training, culminating in their successful commissioning.
The Senator for Zamfara West Senatorial District, who was represented at the event by the Zonal Coordinator of his Constituency Office, Alhaji Sha’ayau Yusuf Ɗanmalikin Mafara, urged them to carry to the field of their assignment the exhibited tenacity and bravery so that the ongoing Federal Government onslaught on insurgency will continue to record huge success.
He explained that the Zonal Constituency Office will, in collaboration with all the relevant agencies, continue to source such placements for deserving constituents so that the rate of unemployment amongst youths will be reduced to the barest minimum.

Senator Abdulaziz Yari called on all young and deserving people to apply for the ongoing recruitments under various security agencies in accordance with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR’s directives.
He added that the Marafan Sokoto is currently funding over 2,000 indigent and orphan students from Zamfara State extraction to pursue a variety of degree programmes in about 20 tertiary institutions throughout Nigeria, including medicine, engineering, architecture, ICT, and many other technical courses, under a well-developed Scholarship Initiative.
In a related development, Marafan Sokoto has created another comprehensive package of scholarships to support the education, health and socio-economic well-being of 20,000 orphans from basic to university level in order to reduce the number of out-of-school children who are primarily victims of banditry.
Alhaji Sha’ayau Yusuf therefore appealed to people in the state to avail themselves of the services being provided by the Marafan Sokoto aimed at improving their well-being.
