Manchester City should be hit with an ‘unprecedented punishment’ by the Premier League for their financial sham, says Ian Wright.
Wright blasted City for cheating ‘on an industrial scale’ and fears for the ‘messy’ ongoing fallout, with City set to appeal despite being found guilty of all the major charges against them.
The Premier League condemned City for making ‘sham’ agreements to articifically inflate their revenue and reduce their operating costs over a nine-season period which saw them win eight trophies.
Speaking before England’s match against Czechia, Wright told ITV Sport: ‘It’s cheating on an industrial scale. It’s quite surreal seeing it written down like that.
