Nigerian sprinter Favour Ashe has reaffirmed his commitment to represent Nigeria, months after initiating a move to switch allegiance to Qatar, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Ashe has now been included in Nigeria’s squad for the 2026 World Relays scheduled to take place in Gaborone, Botswana.

The 100m specialist, who is among a select group of active Nigerian sprinters to have broken the 10-second barrier, is expected to play a key role for the team at the global event.

Sources confirmed that Ashe is already en route to Gaborone, where he will link up with his teammates ahead of the competition.

He is travelling alongside the president of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, Tonobok Okowa, as preparations intensify for the championships.

His return is seen as a significant boost for Nigeria’s relay prospects, given his speed credentials and experience on the international stage.
