Team Nigeria is scheduled to depart for China on May 5 to participate in the 2025 World Athletics Relays, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

This year’s edition of the World Relays will take place on May 10 and 11 at the Guangdong Olympic Stadium in China.

It marks the final major competition for the current board of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) ahead of the federation’s elections next month.

Nigeria will compete in four events: the men and women’s 4x100m relays, the mixed 4x100m relay, and the mixed 4x400m relay.

Notably, the 4x400m relay team—disqualified at the Paris 2024 Olympics for a lane violation—has been excluded from the China trip.

World 100m hurdles record holder (12.12 seconds), Tobi Amusan headlines the Nigerian contingent.

She is joined by Favour Ofili, Tiana Eyakpobeyan, Rosemary Chukwuma, Patience Okon-George, Omolara Ogunmakinju, Success Umukoro and Jennifer Chukwuka.
