The wife of the Anambra State Governor, Mrs Nonye Soludo, has urged Nigerians to make routine health checks a priority, describing them as vital to healthy living.
Soludo made the call in a message to mark this year’s World Heart Day, urging people to adopt healthy habits and take deliberate steps to protect their hearts.
The governor’s wife, who is the Founder of an advocacy group, the Healthy Living With Nonye Soludo , advised Nigerians to make conscious choices that would promote heart health, noting that the heart works for the body every day.
“As we mark World Heart Day today, let’s remember that a healthy heart begins with the little things we do consistently. They include eating better, staying active, managing stress, getting enough rest, and going for routine health checks. Take care of your heart today, because a healthier heart means a healthier life,” the governor’s wife said.
World Heart Day is marked globally on September 29, an international awareness campaign observed every year to highlight cardiovascular diseases (CVD) and promote preventive measures worldwide. On such days, the World Heart Federation brings together its global network of members to unite and raise awareness of cardiovascular disease (CVD).
