Today, the NFF announced that the Super Eagles will welcome Bafana Bafana of South Africa to a crucial 2026 World Cup qualifier in Uyo on Friday, June 7.

It is a much-anticipated clash after both teams were involved in a dramatic penalty shootout at the semifinal of the 2023 AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire recently.

The Super Eagles brushed past the South Africans to reach their eighth AFCON Final.

Bafana Bafana are second in the World Cup qualifying group with three points from two matches, a point ahead of third-placed Nigeria.

Rwanda top the six-team section on four points with the overall winners advancing automatically to the 2026 World Cup to be jointly hosted by USA, Canada and Mexico.
