Colombia secured a place in the Round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Ghana in their Round of 32 clash.
The South Americans struck early through Jhon Arias, who finished from close range in the 14th minute after an inviting cross from Luis Suárez, giving Colombia the lead they would ultimately protect until the final whistle.
Despite dominating possession and creating several scoring opportunities, Colombia were unable to add to their advantage, with Ghana goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi producing a series of impressive saves to keep the Black Stars in the contest.
Ghana, meanwhile, struggled to create clear-cut chances against a disciplined Colombian defence and failed to register a breakthrough.
