The Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, has distributed Ramadan support valued at over 200 million naira to residents of Goronyo Local Government Area in Sokoto State, as part of efforts to ease economic hardship during the holy month.

The distribution, which took place in his Sokoto residence, saw thousands of beneficiaries receive essential food items including rice, millet, sugar, and clothing materials.

In addition to the food support, cash assistance was also disbursed to vulnerable households, community groups, and religious leaders.

Speaking during the event, Goronyo said the intervention was aimed at supporting families to observe Ramadan with dignity and relief, particularly in the face of prevailing economic challenges.

He expressed appreciation to Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership and commitment to improving the welfare of Nigerians, as well as to the Governor of Sokoto State, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, for sustained collaboration toward development in the state.

The minister urged beneficiaries to make judicious use of the items and financial support provided, describing the gesture as a collective effort to strengthen community resilience and social solidarity.

Goronyo also appealed to citizens to continue supporting the Tinubu-led administration, expressing confidence that ongoing reforms would yield improved governance and national development as the country approaches the 2027 general elections.

Beneficiaries who spoke at the event commended the minister for the timely intervention, noting that the support would significantly cushion the burden on households during Ramadan.
