Obi has also appealed to Nigerians to put away their differences and unite to rescue Nigeria in the 2027 presidential elections.

He made the call in Uyo Akwa Ibom state capital during the official declaration to contest the 2027 presidential election on the platform of the ADC. Themed, ‘Activating the PO Effect in ADC,’ he also warned that rigging of election would not be tolerated during the 2027 election

He observed that the present administration in Nigeria had collected more loans than every other administration, adding that most of the loans would be repaid from 2045 and 2050 when the people who plunged the country into this indebtedness are no more.

According to him, Nigeria must get it right in 2027 as election results must be transmitted online real time and whoever fails to transmit results will face the consequences.

“Democracy must work, I left Labour party when I got informed that as long as I remain in the party, INEC will not recognise its leadership, that the federal government doesn’t want me on the ballot paper, but I want to assure you that I will contest the coming election even if it holds in their bedroom and if they don’t want to transmit the results, we will transmit it for them.”

Obi assured that if elected, his administration would invest heavily in the education and health sector, adding that most of the great countries across the world achieved greatness through intentional investment in education. He promised to do everything possible to pull people out of poverty and reduce crime.

He also promised to tour the entire country, including all higher institutions to examine real challenges on ground, stressing that he wants to help fix Nigeria now that he has the strength to undertake any difficult task.

He said those joining him to realize his ambition must understand that the priority is the future and wellbeing of the people.

He promised to rid Nigeria of corruption, saying that the menace would be reduced by 60 percent once a leader and his family have nothing to do with corruption.

“When I became Governor of Anambra State, I advised my wife to forget about the office of first lady because we were not elected together. I approved over 100 certificates of occupancy of the government lands but have none to myself or family. If you find any, petition me to appropriate authority.”

Dr Tanko Yunusa, the coordinator of OBIDIENT movement world-wide, while  addressing supporters in Akwa Ibom, urged Nigerians to mobilise from every nook and cranny of the country for the 2027 general election.

He urged them to channel their collective energy to the ADC as the vehicle for transformation and victory in 2027.

The Akwa Ibom State Coordinator of the OBIDIENT Movement, Dr. Ben Smith, urged members to be united in pursuit of their goal as divisions or factions would derail the dream of a new Nigeria.

“The 2027 presidential election is not about individuals but about a generation, jobs for the youths, security for our families, dignity for the workers and hope for every Nigerian.”
