The women, traditional ruler and Ezeogo of Umuchiakuma, Ihechiowa, in Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia State have commended Senator Orji Uzor Kalu for his quality representation.
The people made the recommendation during the 2026 Women August Meeting of Umuchiakuma.
Immediately the representative of Senator Kalu, Rev. Mrs. Jemaimah Ola Kalu, arrived at the venue, the gathering erupted in song and dance as they sang one of the Senator’s favourite songs, “Chineke Nke Igwe.”
Delivering Senator Kalu’s message, Ola Kalu appealed to the women to respect and support their husbands, while in turn urging husbands to reciprocate with genuine love, care, and protection for their wives.
“The family remains the foundation of a peaceful and progressive society, and both husbands and wives have important responsibilities in raising children who will eventually become the leaders of tomorrow.”
The children, senator Kalu emphasised, must be properly nurtured, educated, and guided with good values as they represent the future of society.
The Senator harped on the importance of peace and unity, particularly at a time when communities and political actors must work together to advance the interests of the people.
Kalu encouraged the women and community leaders to continue promoting peace in their homes and communities, noting that genuine development can only thrive where there is unity, understanding, and mutual respect.
Ola Kalu urged the women to ensure the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and Senator Orji Uzor Kalu in the 2027 elections, which the delegation described as important for sustaining the development agenda and representation of the people.
The women pledged their support for President Tinubu and Senator Kalu and to ensure their re-election.
Meanwhile, Senator Kalu has reaffirmed his commitment to the development of the Amamiri community in Isi-Eleoha, as he urged the women of the community to remain united, uphold family values, and work together to promote the welfare and progress of their community.
Senator Kalu stated this through his representative, Rev. Mrs. Jemaimah Ola Kalu, at the 2026 August Meeting of the Women of Amamiri, at the Amamiri Women Hall.
Senator Kalu commended the women for their dedication to their families, particularly their efforts in caring for their husbands, children, and homes.
He encouraged them to continue to nurture peace and happiness within their families, stressing the important role women play in maintaining stable homes.
Using a familiar expression, Senator Kalu reminded the women that “the surest way to a man’s heart is through his stomach,” and encouraged them to continue to care for and support their husbands while also praying for them and ensuring that their homes remain places of peace, love, and understanding, irrespective of prevailing economic challenges.
Senator Kalu also challenged the women to embrace the cooperative spirit and work together towards common goals. He also reminded the women that another election cycle is approaching and urged them to participate actively in the democratic process.
Kalu appealed to them to come out in large numbers to exercise their civic responsibilities and support his political aspirations as well as the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
He maintained that President Tinubu is working to reposition and transform the Nigerian economy and expressed his own determination to continue supporting development initiatives and projects already embarked upon.
The National President of Amamiri, Madam Sarah Joseph, commended Senator Kalu for what he has been doing for the people. She appealed to the Senator to cause the two-kilometre Amamiri Ward 2 road to be captured in the 2027 budget to facilitate its rehabilitation.
The women pledged their support for President Tinubu and Senator Kalu in next year’s election.
