Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has applauded the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) for teaming up with the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs to deliver crucial relief materials to women, families, and vulnerable populations throughout Nigeria’s 774 Local Government Areas.

According to the statement issued by the minister’s media aide, Jonathan Eze, this collaborative effort involves distributing essentials such as fabrics and rice across the country, aimed at providing comfort and hope to women and their households, in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the visionary support of the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu.

Benue State was the initial beneficiary, receiving over 400 bags of rice, 20 bales of Ankara fabrics, and 10 bales of multipurpose clothing for women and families.

On Monday, the Minister visited Abeokuta, Ogun State, to extend this initiative by distributing more than 100 bags of rice and five bales of Ankara fabrics to local women.

The Minister praised the Comptroller General of Customs, pAdewale Adeniyi, and his team for their unwavering support, highlighting their genuine care for the wellbeing of Nigerian women and families.

“This act clearly exemplifies the Customs Service’s commitment to President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and their compassion for the welfare of women, children, and vulnerable groups. On behalf of Nigerian women, I sincerely thank the Comptroller General and his team for their partnership in this transformative effort to uplift lives and strengthen families,” she remarked.

The Ministry assured that it remains dedicated to ensuring that women in every region benefit from this valuable partnership, with further distributions planned in additional states in the weeks ahead.
