A large group of women from across the 36 states of the federation on Thursday flocked to the major streets of Abuja in a peaceful protest, calling for equal rights, good governance and other demands.

Under the umbrella of Women 4 Women, the women dressed in different uniforms caused traffic obstructions in some busy roads in Abuja, putting additional stress to motorists and other workers making their way to their various workplaces.

They were armed with placards bearing different inscriptions such as: ‘we need a woman vice president’, ‘good governance, good life for our children’ and several other demand. They were chanting solidarity songs to drum home their messages.

They have headed to the entrance of three arm zone Abuja, perhaps to present a written request to government officials that might receive them.
