Winners have emerged in the fourth edition of Primary School Annual Bible Quiz organised by the Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) in Lagos.

The grand finale of the annual event took place at the Salvation Army, Igbobi Corp Auditorium amid pomp and pageantry.

The first position went to Salem Baptist International Primary School, represented by Muritala Desmond and Taiwo Ewaoluwa. The school was rewarded with prizes that include certificates, bibles, school bags, books, medals, and gaming items like scrabble.

Also, Graine Royal Primary School, represented by Phoebe Fashola, and Success Olawoyin, came second. The prizes for the first runner up were as much as the school that came first.

The Angels on Mission Primary School came third. It was represented by Annabel Onyekwere, and Ogechi Ogbogu. The school also received prizes that include certificates, school bags, bibles, and books. The fourth, fifth and sixth positions went to Gods Glory Abide Nursery/Primary School, Tane Crescent Primary School, and De Future Hope Primary Schools respectively. They also received certificates and consolation prizes.

General Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of BSN, Pastor Samuel Sanusi, in his address, said this year’s edition of the competition started with 17 primary schools. He added that six schools qualified for the final stage.

He assured stakeholders that the BSN would continue to organise the quiz every year. He added that the organisation embarked on translation of the bible into 27 different Nigerian languages as well as for the blind, with a view to ensuring that many Nigerians read the Bible.

Sanusi, who was represented by Mrs Adeyemi, noted that representatives of the six primary schools that qualified for the grand finale keenly contested the bible quiz. In the vote of thanks delivered by Mofikoya Samuel, he appreciated the teachers for jobs well done. He also appreciated all the pupils, and said: “Everybody is a winner.”
