A three-story school building under construction in Umunomo, Orogwe, in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State has collapsed.
Although no life was lost, all the workers were said to have been temporarily disengaged before the incident.
The incident, according to a source from the area, happened when the building collapsed under the intense windstorm and heavy rain that poured down at about 8 pm on Sunday.
The school, which is almost at its completion according to the source, is supposed to accommodate over one thousand students.
“Thank God this building has not been completed and children enrolled as students because that is what we heard the school is being built for, it fell down yesterday night during that heavy rain,” the source said.
