Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike has expressed satisfaction with the work done on the Airport–Kuje–Gwagwalada Road project, announcing its inauguration by June.

Impressed by the rapid advancement during the tour of the projects, he hailed the route as transformative for the FCT’s mobility.

“I’m quite impressed. You know that the airport to Kuje road is one road that is very key for us,” he said.

Recalling his prior visit near a mosque under construction on the Kuje–Gwagwalada stretch, he praised the contractors’ pace.

“Like the contractors have said now, God willing, by the first week of June or June ending, we would have inaugurated this project. It’s a very important project, so you don’t need to go through the airport if you are going to Gwagwalada or from Gwagwalada to town. We are very happy with what we have seen,” he stated.

The highway will offer a vital bypass for drivers, slashing travel times and easing chronic congestion around the airport.

Wike shared progress details, saying, “the Airport–Kuje segment exceeds 70 percent completion, while Kuje–Gwagwalada nears 65 percent.

“Well, if you take from Airport to Kuje, it is over 70 percent, and here, from Kuje to Gwagwalada, I can see it’s almost 65 percent, so I think they will meet up,” he assured.
