Wike mourns passing of pioneer FCT Head of Service, Adayilo

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Grace Adayilo, the pioneer Head of the Civil Service of the territory, Adayilo, who was also the first female to hold the position, passed away on Monday.

Appointed on October 6, 2024, Adayilo had previously served as the Permanent Secretary of the Agriculture and Rural Development Secretariat. Her tenure as Head of Service was marked by dedication and hard work.

Speaking during a media briefing, Minister Wike commended the late civil servant’s commitment. “The late FCT Head of Service was very hardworking. I had even appealed to President Tinubu to extend her tenure because of her exceptional service. Learning of her death is deeply saddening and unfortunate. Had I known earlier, I would have postponed this media engagement,” he said.
