Governors of River state, Nyesom Wike and his Oyo state counterpart, Seyi Makinde, yesterday, paid a surprise courtesy visit on President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in Abuja.

Stating the purpose of their visit to the President-elect, the two governors declared that they came to pay homage to him.

They claimed that since election is over and faced with the realities of governance, they will support and cooperate and support him to succeed in turning the fortune of the country around.

Speaking to newsmen, the Rivers state governor urged Nigerians to rally round the President-elect ahead of the inauguration of his administration as the next President of Nigeria.

According to Wike; “we are here on a goodwill courtesy visit on the President-elect. The election and politicking are over and we are to show our support to the President-elect.

“We have assured him of our support and cooperation to succeed and turn the fortune of the country around,” he said without commenting on the absence of other members of the G-5 governors.
