Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike is in Milan, Italy, ahead of a series of high-level engagements.

According to a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, the minister, who was received by the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Nigeria in Italy, Mustapha Mohammed, will meet with the President of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana, on Thursday.

This meeting aims to explore collaborations in agriculture and vocational education, as well as strategic development partnerships with Lombardy, which is Italy’s most economically significant region, boasting a population of about 10 million people and ranking second in the European Union by nominal GDP.

Following the meeting with Fontana, Wike will engage with agribusiness investors and vocational training experts to unlock new opportunities for the FCT.

The minister is accompanied by key officials, including FCT Mandate Secretaries for Education, Danlami Hayyo, and Agriculture and Rural Development, Lawan Geidam, as well as Senior Special Assistants Udo Atang and Benedict Daudu.

Olayinka stressed the importance of these discussions, highlighting Lombardy’s advanced agricultural practices and vocational training systems as key areas for potential collaboration to enhance the FCT’s development agenda.
