Chief Executive Officer of NolliStream, Olu Oluwa Tofehinti, has identified expensive data and poor internet connectivity as some of the challenges affecting the entertainment industry.
Tofehinti, who stated this yesterday at the launch of NolliStream, said the platform was developed to reflect the viewing realities of Nigerians, particularly the challenges of expensive data and inconsistent internet connectivity.
He said the initiative, which is now available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, provides users with access to a wide selection of Nigerian and African films, including dramas, comedies, thrillers and television titles, without requiring a paid subscription.
“Offline access matters here. Many people don’t have consistent data, and we built this with that in mind. We wanted an app that works with how Nigerians actually watch, not against it,” Tofehinti said.

Unlike many streaming services operating in the country that rely on subscription payments, he explained that NolliStream adopts a free-access model aimed at viewers who do not currently subscribe to existing platforms. The company said it also plans to continually expand its catalogue of films and television content.
“The application also comes with parental control features to enable families manage age-appropriate viewing. In addition, the company said its data management practices comply with the provisions of the Nigeria Data Protection Act,” he said.
He added that the platform is targeted at audiences in Nigeria and the diaspora, providing free access to Nollywood and African movies, alongside television content across multiple genres, including drama, comedy and thrillers.
