Nigerian singer Emoseh Khamofu, popularly known as Bloody Civilian, has revealed that marriage is currently not part of her plans despite persistent questions from family members about settling down.
The 26-year-old singer made the disclosure during a recent episode of the Not Just On podcast when she was asked about one thing her family still does not understand about her life as an artiste.
Bloody Civilian said her career has significantly changed the way she views some of the traditional expectations placed on women, particularly those from Northern Nigeria.
According to her, becoming an artiste has reshaped her worldview and altered some of the values she was raised to embrace.
She added that her family still struggles to understand why some of those expectations no longer appeal to her.
“One thing my family still does not understand about being an artiste is that certain conventional things they expect of a woman from the North are simply not things I am excited to do,” she said.
Speaking on marriage, the singer said she is not thinking about it at the moment, even though her family frequently raises the subject.
“For instance, marriage is not something I am thinking of at all. But that question keeps being brought up,” she added.
Bloody Civilian has become known for her outspoken personality and willingness to openly discuss issues relating to her life, career and societal expectations.
The singer has consistently used interviews and public appearances to challenge conventional norms while sharing her personal experiences and perspectives.
