Lagos police commissioner, CP Adegoke Fayoade

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade has warned criminals still residing in the state to seek a new place of abode, as the police will no longer condone their excesses in the state.

The CP spoke to Saturday Sun at the presentation of the book “Interrogating the Criminal Mind” by Chioma Okezie- Okeh in Lagos, urging protesters to continue remain peaceful, especially as they have no need to be violent and destructive.

According to the CP, he had been able to ensure peace during the #endbadgovernance in Lagos because he instructed his officers and men to remain calm in the face of provocation from the protesters, adding that with this peace would reign.

He said with series of lectures on how to ensure peace during the protest given by Inspector General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun before the protest, they cannot afford to do otherwise.  The state Commissioner of Police commended the protesters for conducting themselves peacefully in the ongoing protest against the government. He also appealed to the protesters to continue to be law-abiding and assured them that the police would continue to protect them as long as they remained orderly.

The author, Chioma Okezie-Okeh, a crime reporter has been reporting crime for over a decade.
