Why I’m contesting Kaduna Assembly seat -Jagaban

KADUNA ASSEMBLY

From Sola Ojo, Abuja

An aspirant for the Kaduna State House of Assembly under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Abdullahi Idris Adam, popularly known as Jagaban Matassa, said his decision to contest the Anguwan Sanusi/Sabon Gari Constituency seat was inspired by persistent calls from members of his constituency.

Speaking with journalists shortly after submitting his nomination form, Jagaban explained that the encouragement and support he received from residents convinced him to join the race ahead of the 2027 elections.

According to him, many people in the constituency believed there was a need for leadership that would prioritise the welfare and concerns of ordinary residents.

“The motivation came from my people. They encouraged me to obtain the nomination form because they believe in my ability to represent them effectively.”

He added that constituents had assured him of their readiness to support his aspiration through active participation in the electoral process.

Jagaban stressed that his ambition was driven by the desire to contribute to the development of the constituency and ensure that the voices of the people are adequately represented at the state assembly.

The ADC aspirant also expressed confidence in the chances of his party in the forthcoming elections, saying the party remained committed to providing credible leadership.

“By the grace of God, ADC will emerge victorious and form the next government.”

He further called on residents, especially eligible voters, to come out in large numbers during the elections and protect their votes to ensure that every ballot counts.

According to him, active participation by citizens would strengthen democracy and guarantee that leaders truly reflect the wishes of the people.
