From Sylvanus Viashima, Jalingo
The Taraba State governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, has disclosed that he will work to ensure that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu wins a landslide victory in the state in the 2027 general elections.
Senator Bwacha disclosed this in Jalingo shortly after unveiling Engr. Aminu Zakari as his running mate.
He cited the President’s approach to tackling insecurity across the country, the infrastructural revolution, including several Federal Government projects in the state, and economic reforms as some of the reasons for his support.
Bwacha noted that a lot of state and non-state actors have been working hard over the years, and even at present, to sabotage the government’s efforts, adding that its partnership with the United States is a welcome development, as even security agencies have been infiltrated by the same agents of terror.
He regretted that despite the huge increase in allocations coming to the state, there are no projects to show for it and that, instead, the state’s debt profile has continued to rise exponentially.

According to Bwacha, he chose Engr. Aminu Zakari not because it was politically convenient, **”but because leadership must always place competence above convenience, character above connections, and service above self.
“His record of public service, professional excellence, and unquestionable integrity represents the future we seek to build. His presence on this ticket sends a simple but powerful message: the future cannot wait.
“If we continue to tell our young people they are the leaders of tomorrow without trusting them with responsibility today, then tomorrow will forever remain out of reach.
“This movement is not about Emmanuel Bwacha. It is not about Engr. Aminu Zakari. It is about the farmer in Wukari, the trader in Bali, the teacher in Takum, the artisan in Lau, and every family that believes tomorrow can be better than today. We seek to build a Taraba where agriculture creates wealth, education unlocks opportunity, healthcare restores dignity, enterprise flourishes, infrastructure connects communities, and government earns the trust of the people through integrity, competence and results,”** he said.
He further urged the people to “reject every attempt to place tribe above our common destiny, religion above our shared humanity or personal ambition above the public good. No society has ever risen by pulling itself apart. Great societies rise because they choose unity over division, purpose over prejudice, and hope over fear.”
