Actors from time to time express desires to work with colleagues who inspire them.
Actor and filmmaker Temitope Akinyemi, popularly known as Integrity Icon, has revealed his utmost admiration for the acclaimed actor Odunlade Adekola and expressed his strong desire to work alongside him in future projects.
He said:”The only person I’d love to work with is Odunlade Adekola. I so much admire his craft and his production ability. He’s so agile and I love the way he handles production. He’s that actor that endeavors to always bring out the best in every actor he’s opportune to work with. He’s been on my set before and I still wanna have him any day any time”.
Akinyemi known for his movie ‘Ipin'(Fate) shared an incident where he went to great lengths to fulfill his commitment to a friend’s production despite being hospitalized. Determined not to let the project suffer, he took the bold step of leaving the hospital without official consent, carrying out his duties on set for five consecutive days. This unwavering dedication and determination speak to Akinyemi’s passion for his craft and his commitment to delivering exceptional work.
In his words:”One of the greatest prices I paid was over a friends production. I was supposed to be on his set for 5 days and we planned the production together but I was hospitalized before the date. I couldn’t afford to miss the production because I knew it was going to affect a lot of things, so I literally ran away from the hospital without anyone’s consent. I removed the drip from my hand and left. Thank God I already packed all my costumes in the car, didn’t even inform my wife I’ll be going for the production. I went, spent five days, and I did great all through”.
The diligent movie producer born on the 28th of December in Dopemu Lagos opened up on how he transitioned from acting to filmmaking, Akinyemi said :”Well, it has not been easy but we thank God all the way. Being an actor made it easier to be a film maker. It gives me the necessary perspective about the kind of actors I want to have on my movie set and the kind of story i want to work on. It also prepares me for what is to come. Through movie production, I have learnt proper communication skills with my cast and crew. I’m able to balance the roles well by thorough understanding of the two and what they entails Luckily for me, I also have people around me who help and ensure the burdens are not overwhelming”.
