Former Benue State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in 2015 and former Nigeria’s ambassador to Namibia, Terhemen Tarzoor, has endorsed the state governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, for a second term as Governor of Benue State.
Tarzoor handed down the endorsement when he addressed newsmen in Makurdi yesterday.
In a public statement of support for Governor Alia, he explained that in 2015, when he aspired to govern the state, he had lofty dreams and an unwavering desire to uplift the lives of the people.
“Though that journey did not materialise, today, I find immense joy and reassurance seeing those same aspirations reflected so vividly in the visionary leadership of Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia.
“Each time I visit our beloved state, I am inspired by the visible transformation taking place, from the remarkable urban renewal of our capital city to the spread of development projects across our rural communities.
“The renewed hope, the smiles and the palpable satisfaction among our people speak volumes of a government working with sincerity, accountability and a clear sense of purpose.
“My personal observations across the state leave me fully convinced that Governor Alia is leading with integrity, discipline and genuine commitment to service. His humility in leadership, results-oriented focus and devotion to the welfare of our people deeply resonate with the ideals I have always cherished for Benue.
“For these reasons, I wish to express my profound appreciation to Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia for his exemplary stewardship and to affirm my total and unwavering support for his administration.”
Tarzoor, a former Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, expressed pleasure at the massive infrastructural strides of Governor Alia and his prudent management of state affairs as evident in the quality of road infrastructure, diversification of the economy towards industrialisation, human capital development and steadfast commitment to the welfare of workers.
“In light of these achievements, I wholeheartedly endorse Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia for a second term as Governor of Benue State.
“I am committed to standing with him, lending my voice, resources and every possible support to ensure that the progress we are witnessing is sustained and expanded for the greater good of all.”
He stated that under Governor Alia’s stewardship, Benue State was experiencing a renaissance that restores faith in governance and rekindles the collective spirit of the Benue people.
“His emergence and performance have reawakened the ideals of purposeful leadership and inspired a new generation of Benue youths to once again believe in the promise of selfless public service.
“From this day forward, I pledge to stand firmly with this administration, offering every support within my capacity to ensure the success and continuity of its noble vision.”
He further expressed confidence that under Fr. Alia’s guidance, Benue State was on the path of genuine transformation, “one that will define our history and shape a brighter, more prosperous future for generations to come.”
