Former Manchester United star, Cristiano Ronaldo, has now revealed why he chose to stay at Al Nassr.

The 40-year-old striker stated that he is preparing for the FIFA World Cup next year as well as the new season for his club.

Ronaldo stated that he received offers to participate in the current FIFA Club World Cup but decided to stay with Al Nassr.

The Portuguese said he needed to get some rest before the start of another season.

The football goal king spoke after signing a new deal with Al Nassr, adding that it was all about preparing for next season and keeping fit for the FIFA World Cup.

He said as quoted by ESPN, “I had some offers to play [Club] World Cup but I think it didn’t make sense because I prefer to have a good rest, a good preparation, because this season will be very long, because this is the season of the World Cup, at the end of the season.

“So I want to be ready not only for Al Nassr but also for the national team. This is why I want to stay, because I believe in the project.”

Ronaldo’s new deal at Al Nassr will keep him at the club until 2027.
