A security expert, Bulama Bukarti, on Monday said former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, is entitled to full due process of law despite the ongoing probe into his affairs.
Bukarti made the remarks during an appearance on Politics Today on Channels Television, while reacting to the recent raid on El-Rufai’s residence by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
According to him, investigative and anti-corruption agencies must strictly comply with laid-down procedures when carrying out searches.
“When investigators go to search a particular person’s house, there are procedures that have to be complied with,” Bukarti said.

“I emphasise that the ICPC and other agencies must understand that Mallam El-Rufai is entitled to due process of law and his investigation must be transparent,”
“If any evidence is found against him, it must be presented before a court of law. He is not above the law,” Bukarti stated.
Bukarti maintained that while no public official should be insulated from scrutiny, enforcement bodies must operate within the confines of the law to sustain public confidence in the justice system.
“The ICPC and other agencies must understand that Mallam El-Rufai is entitled to full due process of law and his investigation must be transparent.”
