Commissioner of Police, Benue State, Mr Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, has said that police are waging war on bandits, leading to the recent arrest of 12 suspects:

“The command has mapped out strategies to checkmate hoodlums by raiding their hideouts. We have deployed our tactical team to be on a 48-hour surveillance.

“Police also arrested 10 suspected armed robbers and kidnappers in Otukpo. We recorded weapons used for the operation. 

“We discovered some of the bandits are coming from neighbouring states to operate. We are on alert and combing the environs.

“On the incident that happened in Kwande and Apa local governments, operatives of tactical team were deployed on surveillance, restoring peace in the areas.

“Another set of armed robbers was arrested in Makurdi. We are on top of the situation and ready to flush hoodlums out of the state. Police and other sister agencies are up to the task to restore peace in the state.

“The state is safety and peaceful. We need the support of the public to give us information and imbibe community policing. Police operatives will always uphold professionalism in the discharge of their duties.”
