Prophet Samson Ayorinde, Founder/General Overseer, World Evangelism Bible Church (WEBIC), has shed light on why his ministry is moving to higher ground. He said God gave him the vision to set up the church 30 years ago, noting that at this age, there’s the need to reposition it in response to ever changing society.
He said he has put in place steps to achieve the repositioning. These include a national retreat for ordained WEBIC ministers, a crusade coming up this year and re-jigging various units in the church. He unveiled these during a media chat in his Lagos office recently.
On the rationale for the repositioning, Ayorinde said: “God favoured us in WEBIC to build and dedicate our multi-million naira state-of-the-art cathedral. The new two-floor edifice is boosting morale and improving dedication of members because it affords us more space and conducive environment. We seized the momentum to reorganise services and embark on the retraining of workers. In the corporate world, no serious company will ignore retreats, which make them more competitive. Same goes for churches, especially those in Pentecostal fold where many troubled souls seek spiritual interventions to their economic challenges.
“This is where the national retreat for church workers play a major role .Immediately we opened our new auditorium on May 4th this year, we followed it up with the retreat for our ministers on June 12th, a national holiday in Nigeria,” he noted.
On what happened during the retreat and what was on offer, the General Overseer said: “We selected some senior pastors from the church as resource persons because as workers they know our vision. Topics for discussions were shared among them. We titled the retreat, A New Level. Myself, my wife, who is the co-founder, Prophetess Mercy Ayorinde and resident pastor, Rev. Harold Chinonyerem, monitored the event, which is compulsory for all workers. My wife took participants through the topic on Navigating Your Way Through New Level while Rev Tony Oghre handled The Purpose Driven Life. Another contributor, Rev Ola-Olu Sam Falaki dwelt on Ministerial Service. Rev Chinonyerem took participants on Loyalty to the Church.”
Ayorinde pointed out that because of the response to the retreat, another is being planned for October this year. This, he said, will prepare the ground for a big crusade coming up in Agege Stadium, Lagos on November 28th.
On any plan to boost workers’ participation for the crusade, Ayorinde said he will pay pastoral visits to all the branches.

“I have visited Alapere/Ketu, Ota Ona and Ijede already .Other branches should prepare to host me,” he said.
Revisiting the new auditorium, Ayorinde said it’s part of the master plan since WEBIC was founded 30 years ago.
“We just have to modify the plan to accommodate growing membership and worshippers. We will continue to develop our facilities. The old auditorium is retained for some services, including our Shilloh Hour on Thursdays for our seniors while other units use the place. But there are plans to have an Events Centre there,” he said.
When asked about other activities slated for this year, he mentioned Achievers Congress holding from July 26th and 27th when women’s spiritual activities will be on display. Their thanksgiving service will hold on July 27th at the new auditorium, he stated.
He said teenagers will be in camp from August 14th to 17th in the church headquarters, noting that the occasion exposes them to spiritual learning.
When asked what his church is offering in this year’s convention, Ayorinde said the Mantle 2025 will be unique, noting that a lot of activities have been lined up .
Said he: “The convention starts from Tuesday with a Miracle Service. Next day, November 5th is Workers’ Conference, which is mandatory for all ministers. Youths and our seniors will take their turns on November 6th. Of course, Friday, November 7 is Variety Night, a vigil of Praise and Worship. We will use Saturday, November 8th to honour two prominent members who have contributed immensely to the growth of the church .Other members will also be honoured. We will round off this year’s Mantle 2025 with a Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, November 9th. All activities for the convention shall hold in the new auditorium with all members from the various branches in attendance,” Ayorinde said.
