The Federal Government has reiterated that it will prioritize rural infrastructure, to enhance seed production to boost food security.
The government, through the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF), Mohammed Abu Ibrahim, made the pledge yesterday in Abuja when he appeared before the Senate and House of Representatives Committee on Agriculture, for the 2025 budget defence.
Also, Ibrahim highlighted key achievements from 2024, which he said included improved partnerships with stakeholders, successful implementation of several flagship projects like the Ginger Recovery Advancement and Transformation for Economic Empowerment (GRATE) project.

While assuring the lawmakers of the Fund’s willingness to capitalise on its past achievements in 2025, the committee chaired by Senator Saliu Mustapha and Bello Kaoje, commended NADF for its significant strides in 2024, particularly in facilitating sustainable agricultural development across the country.
They underscored the importance of increasing support for the Fund to accelerate its initiatives and ensure the timely disbursement of seed capital, which is critical for advancing the nation’s agricultural sector.
The committees reaffirmed their commitment to working closely with the NADF to achieve shared goals of enhancing the food security agenda of President Tinubu administration.
