he Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar has said the Nigerian Air Force Investment Limited in partnership with Primscape Properties Limited were committed to setting a new benchmark in affordable housing and contributing positively to the local economy.

He made the statement at the ground breaking ceremony of the Nigerian Air Force Treasure City Estate in Mgbodo Aluu, Rivers State. He said the event was a significant step forward in the commitment of the force to provide affordable housing for Air Force personnel and the public.

He explained that the mandate of the Nigerian Air Force Housing and Construction Company Limited was to ensure that personnel, their families and others have access to quality housing that meets Air Force standards.

He said: “Today, as we break ground for NAF Treasure City Estate, we are inspired to build upon the successes of Harmony Estate in partnership with Primescape Properties Limited.

We are committed to setting new benchmarks in affordable housing. The estate will not only provide living spaces for residents, but also contribute positively to the local economy and the broader community”

“This project represents more than just bricks and mortar. It is about creating a vibrant community, where families can grow, children can play and lives can flourish. We envision a neighbourhood that embodies comfort, security and unity, which are values that reflect the very essence of our great nation.”

He noted that the support and goodwill of the governor, traditional rulers and community members has been instrumental and thanked them for their support so far.

Also, speaking at the event, Managing Director of Primescape Properties, Chukwudi Ezugu noted that housing deficit in Nigeria was enormous and commended the Nigerian Air Force for creating NAFIL Housing and Construction Company with the mandate to provide quality and affordable housing for all.

He explained that the project would sit on more than 34 hectares, take 24 months to finish and is divided into two main sections; the commercial zone and the residential zone.

“Housing deficit in Nigeria is quite enormous and for the Nigerian Air Force to establish a company that is NAFIL HCC, which is into housing, is a welcomed development. They have achieved huge successes in Port Harcourt and Abuja and they are extending it to other places just to ameliorate the housing challenges facing this country. We have over 20 million housing deficits in the country.

“This project is estimated to take 24 months. It is located on a-34.875 hectare. It is divided into commercial and residential zones. When you live in this estate, you will have virtually everything you need to live your life here. School, hospital, shopping mall and everything you need, will be here,” he said.
