We’re committed to developing grassroots soccer in Nigeria, Alimi says, as Fit Youngsters wins Academy Cup final trophy

Sports Director of Fit Youngsters Sports Academy,Mr.Alimi Adekunle  said the academy is committed to developing hidden talents and grassroots soccer in Nigeria.

Speaking shortly after the final game of the  U-15 Five Aside Football competition organized by the Fit Youngsters sports academy in Ikorodu, Lagos,Alimi said the two teams that played in the final of the competition were potentials winners, adding that the game was very competitive.

He stated also that Fit Youngsters  Football academy team won their opponent from the Smile academy narrowly with a slight 1: O win.

The sports director maintained that the football competition lasted for three weeks, that was between November 25 and December 16.

“The 16 teams that went into the competition were potentials favourites for the finals,but as the game progressed,the best teams proceeded gradually from the group stages,quarter finals,semis and final.

“It was the best opportunity for the teams to showcase their talents and skills in the competition.And many of the U-15 players have shown that they are future stars.

Recall that the final of the U-15 Five Aside football competition held last weekend at  Fun Factory stadium in Itamaga, Ikorodu,Lagos,and the game was between Fit Youngsters academy and Smile academy but in the end, Fit Youngsters won the final game winning the golden trophy with five hundred thousand cash prizes Smile academy took the Silver trophy with two hundred thousand naira cash while  Trojan FA came third and went home with bronze trophy with one hundred and fifty thousand naira cash prizes.
